Our new 220g cotton seersucker dressing gowns recall this distinctive cloth’s original use in relaxed, flowing garments. A versatile piece this lightweight dressing gown is a fresh and refreshing take on hot-weather elegance.

Tracing it’s origins back to India, seersucker is a cotton fabric with corrugated vertical stripes to promote air circulation in the tropical heat. Known locally as shir-o-shakhar (“milk and sugar,” in reference to its smooth and rough textures), this uniquely puckered cloth was adopted and exported by the British as “seersucker” in the 19^th century.
